Personal Training

‘Fitness by Design’ is focused on helping people who want to work out at home using minimal equipment. Sometimes people are unsure where/how to begin. For these people, a personal trainer will design a program to get that person moving in the right direction. Other people are reluctant to work out in crowds, and prefer the privacy and focus a personal training session provides. Some of the issues addressed by a personal trainer include:

  • Overall body strengthening and weight loss
  • Functional correction (increasing strength around specific joints, such as strengthening a weak back, the muscles around bad knees, ankles, wrists, etc.)
  • Seniors programs which address overall or specific strength issues and/or balance issues
  • Post natal body issues

Not only does a personal trainer provide guidance by teaching the necessary skills and tasks to reach fitness goals, personal trainers also provide motivational support and encouragement.  For some, support and encouragement are enough to keep them going on the right path.  For others, accountability provides that motivation.  Sometimes working out with a friend provides the means to success.  In such cases, a discounted rate is applied for multiple people in a single session (multiple client sessions must consist of clients with similar fitness levels and goals). The studio is a private and relaxed environment.  If you feel more comfortable working out of the privacy of your home, in-home sessions are also available.

Personal Training with Jennifer Ortenberg starts with a one-on-one conversation to discuss your specific fitness objectives.  There’s no charge for this meeting, just a casual conversation where you can share your fitness goals, and ask any questions you may have.  Some examples of what you’ll be asked about during this conversation include:  exercise goals, muscular/health concerns, your schedule and availability for an exercise program, motivational factors and any obstacles which might dissuade you from exercise.

After the initial interview meeting, Jennifer will create a customized exercise program for you, that is designed to meet your specific goals and to work for your lifestyle.  Exercises in this program will be performed with Jennifer at the scheduled sessions, and any issues with technique will be addressed.

Personal Training Sessions are 50 minutes long. Rates are as follows:
